theladysnarkydame So I've seen a couple people do this as an extension to that 21 First Lines fic meme, and go figure! It also looks fun. :D
1. John flew the Jumper in wide arcs, and they watched it burn till dawn.
2. He had not been joking, after all.
3. He crossed the room in three long steps, and took her hand.
4. It felt good, being real.
5. As Rodney turned over and rubbed at his nose in his sleep, John watched the screen light up in his hand, and smiled.
6. Below them, the glass-winged birds sang, and far below the birds, she could hear the murmur of the sea.
7. The Ravenkroft had come in from the deep.
8. He watched it fall, listening to Ryou's soft, steady breaths.
9. "I don't suppose," he asked, "you could have brought my hat along?"
10. "There you are. I have you."
11. After a moment, Pete took it.
12. Let them fill the world with it.
13. Then he had to catch his breath, feeling like he'd just run another couple of miles, because Natsume's eyes were closing, trustingly, and Natsume's hand was warmly, firmly, holding his.
14. Time to go.
15. They had a key.
16. On the horizon, there was a towering city, built of metal and glass, and shining in the sun.
17. And even that was warming.
18. She would instead make a very fine tool.
19. "I knew where you were."
20. He let his head fall against Derek's broad shoulder, and said, very quietly, knowing Derek would hear him, "For now, at least."
21. He turns around, and Gerard is there, and his eyes are clear.
It seems I may be slightly more likely to use names in the last line than the first, and the last sentence is often quite short (except when it isn't).
