A Meme about a House. Or somesuch.
I am dragging today, which is a real shame -- it's lovely outside. I'll probably turn in early instead of walking around.
But in the meantime, a meme!
1. What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now?
A body wash, which gets wonderfully sudsy and smells like cherry blossoms.
2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator?
No -- I actually like watermelon flavored things very much; drinks and candies and such, but I've never much liked eating actual watermelon. It's a texture thing, I think.
3. Is there anything moldy in your refrigerator?
I think I've thrown it all out!
5. What would you change about your living room?
I'd like a new rug, and I want to paint the coffee table. But I do like the way it's set up.
6. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty?
*checks* Dirty. Also, it's full, so I should run it.
7. Do you have a can of mushrooms in your pantry?
Never had canned mushrooms -- I've only recently decided I liked them, and I've only had fresh.
8. White or wheat/brown bread?
I don't mind white, but it's boring. I like my bread to have flavor.
9. What is on top of your refrigerator?
An empty cookie jar, several empty beverage-jug things should I decide to make lemonade or something, a banana tree sans bananas, an empty recipe box, a can of Glade air-freshener, and five boxes of Cracker Jacks.
10. What color is your sofa?
It's a beautiful blue unfortunately tarnished by a floral print. And is currently mostly covered by a bright red blanket.
11. What color or design is on your shower curtain?
It's a cloth curtain, rather ragged as my cats used to climb on it, and it a golden-brownish color with a bamboo print.
12. How many plants are in your home?
There are two right now -- a giant hardy green thing and some red moss that's probably mostly dead. I'd like more, but Sanji tends to eat them, and whatever I grow has to like shade.
13. How many candles are in your home?
There are lots -- handmade ones from the local Renaissance Festival, tiny tea lights I picked up somewhere -- and the two scented ones that I actually use, in the kitchen and in my bedroom.
14. Is your bed made right now?
Yes, if by "made" you mean the blanket is thrown the mattress and the pillows are more or less in place.
15. If you have a coffee pot, what color is it?
I do not have a coffee pot, as I don't much care for hot drinks.
16. Electric or standard can opener?
Standard. Also, broken. I'm not sure how that happened but it really doesn't work.
17. Comet or Soft Scrub?
Comet -- I like the grittiness.
18. Is your closet organized?
Currently! I have to set it in order every couple of months.
19. What color is the flashlight that you use the most?
It's red, and tiny.
20. What kinds of things are in your junk drawer?
Old lighters and matchbooks (I don't smoke, but I've always liked lighters), some wire, index cards, rubberbands, push pins, spare pieces of tech I no longer own, a drink cozy . . . you know, junk.
21. Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home?
Usually glass, though there's a couple of plastic tumblers I actually like.
22. Do you have iced tea made in a pitcher right now?
Not right now. I have some packets of peach tea I want to use -- I think it'd taste good mixed with lemonade.
23. If you have a garage, is it cluttered?
No garage, as they're uncommon downtown.
24. Curtains or blinds?
Blinds. I want curtains, but I'd have to make them (my windows are huge) and there isn't any real good way to set up curtain rods without drilling into the wall, which the landlord would frown on.
25. How many pillows do you sleep with?
There are 5 on the bed, but three of them make up my "headboard" so I only really sleep on two.
26. Do you sleep with any lights on at night?
No -- but since it's downtown, and I only have blinds, it's never really dark at night. It used to bother me, but not so much anymore.
27. How many ceiling fans are in your home?
One in the bedroom -- I haven't turned it off in two years.
28. How often do you vacuum?
Every couple of days. Four cats = lots of vaccumming.
30. What color is your toothbrush?
White and green. It's about time for a new one.
31. Do you have a welcome mat on your front porch?
No porch. I do have a mat inside my door, for wiping wet shoes and such.
32. What is in your oven right now?
It's empty -- well, there's some aluminum foil laid down to keep the pizza rolls from making a mess, but I'm not cooking anything right now.
33. Is your microwave clean or dirty?
Pretty clean. Could probably use a wipe though.
34. Is there anything under your bed?
Since Pico's not on my lap, he could be under there.
35. Chore you hate doing the most?
Laundry. Oooh, no. Dusting.
36. What retro items are in your home?
I don't think there's anything intentionally retro? Though there's probably a few things old enough to qualify.
37. Do you have a separate room that you use as an office?
No, it's a one bedroom apartment, so the computer desk is in my room.
38. If you have a yard, who mows it?
No yard. Which I don't much mind, since I hated yard work as a kid. But I do miss having trees. And squirrels.
39. Is there anything on your kitchen floor right now?
A blue rag rug, some paper bags in the corner for recyclables, one of the sets of the cats' food/water dishes.
40. How many mirrors are in your home?
Just one -- the bathroom has a great big one over the sink, but I'd love to get a floor length one.
41. Do you have any hidden emergency money around your home?
Noooo. Any money is found and quickly spent (by me, which is inconvenient, since I'd be the one hiding it.)
42. What color are your walls?
When I moved in they were a kind of eggshell white, but white walls make me twitch. And since, other than the bedroom and the bath, the apartment is all one room, I wanted some division. So the entry way is purple, my room is dark green, the kitchen area is blue, and the living room area is a deep golden rod. The entire north wall is still white though, because that's concrete, and I'm not supposed to paint it. And I never got around to painting the bathroom, so it's white too. Technicolor apartment!
43. Which rooms in your house have wallpaper?
None of them.
44. Do you have a peephole in your front door?
Yep. Comes in handy in an apartment building.
45. Do you keep any kind of protection weapons in your home?
I didn't get them with the intent to use them as protection weapons? But I own a great big hefty walking stick, and a sword.
46. What does your home smell like right now?
It still faintly smells of smoke, from when the roof of the building caught fire a few weeks ago. And the candle is burning, so there's a kind of tropical citrusy smell there. I try very hard to keep it from smelling of cats.
47. Favorite candle scent?
I like citrus scents, and woodsy scents -- cedar and sandlewood and the like.
48. What kind of pickles (if any) are in your refrigerator right now?
There's some dill pickle relish -- I like it on fake-meat tacos.
49. Who are in the pictures you displayed?
Siblings, cousins, parents, LOTS of my nephews and my niece, my old dogs, my old horse, my cats, some of my friends . . . I come from a picture taking family. I have several pictures of someone taking a picture of someone who's taking pictures of scenery. :D
50. What color is your favorite bible?
The one I grew up with was sort of burgundy I think. Wouldn't say I had a favorite.
51. Do you have plenty of cabinet space in your kitchen?
It's usable. I wish there was a pantry.
52. Ever been on your roof?
When I first moved in I went up there, but shortly after that they started keeping it locked.
53. Do you own a stereo?
Yes -- it's a ten disc CD changer and it has a tape deck! :D :D :D (I got it in middleschool, I think.)
54. How many TVs do you have?
I have one monstrously heavy old thing. No cable, so I just use if for DVDs and video games.

None. Just my cell.
56. Do you have a housekeeper?
No. My mom cleans houses, but I haven't got the nerve to ask her to clean up for me. :P
57. What style do you decorate in?
Colorful comfort? Oh, no, Shabby Bookshelf Chic.

Solids. Or geometric prints, but mostly solids. Not florals. (the couch was free, or I'd never have picked it up)

One. It's too high up the wall for me to reach it, but the landlord makes sure the batteries get changed once a year.
60. In case of fire, what are the items you would grab if you only could make one quick trip?
The cats (all four of them, yikes) and my iPhone.

No? Other than flipping switches if I blow a fuse.
62. What temperature in your home is most comfortable to you?
It's currently set at 73F -- in the winter I set it around 62-65.
